- My parents and grandparents made sure I made education my number one priority, and they taught me to never give up on my dreams. That, with my desire to help people, and a clear vision of what I want from my career, has enabled me to make it through the tough years in school/residency and early years as an attending physician.

After years of working in a traditional primary care group, Dr. Metzger decided it was time to take control of his career in order to give his patients the time and care they deserve. At Metzger Medical, patients pay an annual membership fee to experience more direct, more accessible, and more personalized care. Dr. Metzger believes that consistency with one doctor helps establish a more therapeutic doctor-patient relationship that leads to better patient satisfaction as well as better health outcomes.
A Dallas native, he spent most of his childhood in Louisiana. Dr. Metzger obtained his Undergraduate Degree from Louisiana State University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He subsequently completed his internship and residency in family medicine at Baylor Scott & White in Garland.
Committed to excellence, the doctor attained board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for all patients.
