Can sunscreen cause a skin allergy?

A 2000 graduate of The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, Dr. Burnett performed her internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Minnesota where she served as Chief Resident in her final year.
Following her residency, she returned to Boston and worked as a Clinical Associate in Dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and served as a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School for ten years. She also served as the Chair of Dermatology at Cambridge Health Alliance before focusing on private practice dermatology.
Specializing in skin care, she is board-certified in dermatology and pediatric dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
Licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts, Dr. Burnett is affiliated with Mass General Brigham, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and Emerson Hospital.
