Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Yazan Daaboul, who serves patients in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Dr. Daaboul is a triple board-certified cardiologist who specializes in general and structural echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac computed tomography (CT), and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). 

A certified biostatistician, Dr. Daaboul has statistical expertise in survival analysis, regression models, and cost-effectiveness analysis.

Now the Director of the Core Lab Services at Baim Institute, he completed a research fellowship at PERFUSE study group and participated in advancing numerous large-scale phase III randomized trials, namely PIONEER AF-PCI, APEX, AEGIS-I, and EMBRACE. His research interests include acute coronary syndromes, antiplatelet therapy, thromboembolism, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

The Baim Institute for Clinical Research is a non-profit academic research organization based in Boston, Masshucetts but with experience in research that spans the world. It collaborates with the world’s leading researchers from national and international institutions to design, implement, and complete clinical trials, and then develop programs to translate the results into clinical practice. Born and raised in Lebanon, Dr. Daaboul graduated with his medical degree from the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine.  Post-graduation, he completed 2 years of clinical research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and earned his certification in applied biostatistics from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Furthering his training, he completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in non-invasive cardiology at Tufts Medical Center, during which he also served as chief cardiology fellow and representative of the bylaws committee at the Massachusetts Medical Society. 

An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Furthermore, he is board-certified in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine (ABNM). The ABNM is the primary certifying organization for nuclear medicine in the United States, certifying physicians as specialists in the practice of nuclear medicine.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Familiar to the public at large, Dr. Daaboul is a medical correspondent for the International Journal of Current Research and host of the medical show “The Yaz Show”, as well as is present on various social media channels addressing contemporary medical news, patient advocacy, and medical satire. He also has his own successful social media consulting agency where he serves as an independent social media consultant for numerous pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Successful in his field, Dr. Daaboul has authored more than 100 original research, publications, abstracts, and book chapters, including Topol’s Textbook of Interventional Cardiology, Braunwald’s Heart Disease companion textbook for Nuclear Cardiology and Multimodal Cardiovascular Imaging, and Springer’s textbook on Quality Measures. His prolific research work has been cited 2000+ times.

Extracurricularly, he enjoys playing the piano and golfing. He speaks both English and Arabic.
