Get to know Family Physician Dr. Lucinda Fisher, who serves hospitalized patients in New Jersey.

Dr. Fisher is a trusted family physician with over two decades of experience in her field. She can be found on staff at Virtua Marlton Hospital & Virtua Memorial Hospital.

Virtua Marlton Hospital is a regional medical center in South Jersey that offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. It specializes in advanced surgical procedures, ranging from the common to the most complex, as well as cardiovascular diagnoses and treatments. The hospital in Marlton continues to stay on the cutting edge of technology with specialty programs, including surgical spine care, joint replacement surgery and stroke care.

Virtua Memorial Hospital is a full-service regional medical center in Mount Holly, New Jersey. It is renowned for its expertise in advanced surgical and medical care. During an emergency, Virtua Memorial is the only full-service hospital — with maternity care — in Burlington County that offers a full spectrum of medical options. Specialty programs at Virtua in Mount Holly include neurosurgery, stroke care, maternal/child health services, orthopedics, spine, cardiology, and more.

A 1999 graduate of the Sidney Kimmel Medical College – Thomas Jefferson University, Dr. Fisher went on to perform her residency in family medicine at West Jersey- Memorial Family Medicine Residency at Virtua. Dr. Fisher is married and has five children. She attended medical school after several years spent as a professional musician in Philadelphia.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, she is board-certified in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. 

Professionally, Dr. Fisher served on the Faculty of the Family Medicine Residency Program at Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, New Jersey from 2003 – 2013. She also served as the Associate Residency Director at Underwood Memorial Hospital from 2008 – 2013. She currently serves as an Adult Hospitalist at Virtua Marlton Hospital, since 2013. Her special areas of care include Geriatrics and Hospital medicine in addition to General Family Medicine.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
