About

Gregg St.clair is an acupuncturist practicing in Clifton Park, NY. Dr. St.clair evaluates and treats patients based on the concepts of oriental medicine. Acupuncturists complete their evaluations by getting a patient history and looking at and touching the body. Then, they place very fine acupuncture needles into specific points on the body. Stimulating these points and nerves is how Dr. St.clair treats the patients condition. Many of the bodys systems respond to acupuncture, and it can treat physical pain as well as emotional stress.

I saw Gregg St. Clair a few years ago for chronic pain and trouble sleeping. My sleep improved for a little while; the chronic pain did not improve at all. Even though he does not state so on his website, Mr. St. Clair seems to specialize in fertility and prenatal care, and is limited in what he is able to provide beyond that. Not an issue if you are looking for a specialist in one of these areas, however, I had a surprisingly bad experience when he became aware that my religious beliefs are neither mainstream nor in agreement with his own. A simple discussion about my own comfort level with a specific line of treatment led to a rather heated argument. On subsequent visits, he continued to make critical and mocking statements about my beliefs, and even attempted to make me agree with statements that refute them. While I believe that open discussion about belief is often healthy and productive (especially in the field of alternative care), I do not think it is appropriate for a practitioner to attempt to change a patient’s personal beliefs.
