Get to know Radiologist Dr. John Amodio, who serves patients in New Hyde Park, New York.

Well-versed in the field of radiology, Dr. Amodio is an attending physician within the Department of Radiology at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. He specializes in pediatric radiology.

Cohen Children’s Medical Center is dedicated to providing the very best care to meet the special needs of children, from premature babies to adolescents. Their 202-bed hospital opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area’s only hospital designed exclusively for children. Today, they are the largest provider of pediatric health services in New York state, serving 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Graduating with his medical degree from New York Medical College, Dr. Amodio went on to complete his internship at Maimonides Medical Center, and his residency at the Montefiore Medical Center – Moses Division. Later, he completed his fellowship at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Radiology (FACR), the doctor attained board certification in diagnostic radiology and pediatric radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The mission of the ABR is to serve patients, the public, and the medical profession by certifying that its diplomats have acquired, demonstrated, and maintained a requisite standard of knowledge, skill, and understanding essential to the safe and competent practice of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Holding a license to practice medicine in New York, Dr. Amodio has admitting privileges at Glen Cove Hospital, Huntington Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital, Long Island Jewish Forest Hills, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Long Island Jewish Valley Stream, Mather Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, North Shore University Hospital Syosset, Northern Westchester Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center, Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, Plainview Hospital, South Shore University Hospital, and Staten Island University Hospital.

As for his academic appointment, he serves as a Professor of Radiology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
