Upon graduation, he studied biology at Indiana University Northwest, after which he went on to pursue his dental education. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in 1994. Since then, he has completed over 1,000 hours of continuing education.
