Dr. Finkelstein graduated with his Medical Degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 1999, giving him over two decades of experience in his field. During his time there he was on the Dean’s List from 1995 to 1997, and was part of the Iota Epsilon Alpha Medical Honor Society. After obtaining his medical degree he completed his internal Medicine Residency at MCP/Hahnemann University. Furthering his training he then completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Tulane University Health Science, and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He also completed additional CT Angiography training at Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute. He is certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Dr. Finkelstein was presented by the Fort Worth Business Press as a 2013 Healthcare Hero within the community. Additionally, he is part of the Golden Key National Honor Society. Interventional Cardiology represents advanced training in cardiovascular disease and focuses on the invasive (usually catheter-based) management of heart disease. Clinical issues usually managed by interventional cardiologists include: Ischemic heart disease (percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty), stent placement, coronary thrombectomy), Valve disease (valvuloplasty, percutaneous valve repair or replacement), and Congenital heart abnormalities (repair of atrial and ventricular septal defects, closure of patent ductus arteriosus, angioplasty of the great vessels). When not practicing medicine, Dr. Finkelstein enjoys traveling abroad, Broadway shows and playing tennis.
