A caring and compassionate pediatrician, Dr. Munoz is the Chief of Pediatrics at The Hospitals of Providence Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Texas. He provides primary care for children of all ages, from babies to teenagers.
Founded in 1996, The Hospitals of Providence Children’s Hospital is located on The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus and is part of the network that includes some of the region’s most trusted hospitals. It contains 148 beds and is committed to quality through teamwork, technology, and service in a child friendly, family-oriented environment.

Back in 1990, Dr. Munoz graduated with his medical degree from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Honduras. He then relocated to the United States, completing his pediatric clinical rotation at the Children’s Hospital of Houston at Baylor, and his pediatric residency training at The Children’s Hospital of Austin.
Board-certified in pediatrics, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Dr. Munoz is affiliated with Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus-Tenet Healthcare (named Chief of Staff in 2019), Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus-Tenet Healthcare, and Las Palmas Medical Center.
Holding an academic rank, he currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
