Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Jeffrey Clothier, who serves patients in Little Rock, Arkansas.

A seasoned psychiatrist, Dr. Clothier is the Medical Director of the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute, tending to patients at the Walker Family Clinic in Little Rock, Arkansas. He also serves as a Professor and Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the UAMS Medical Center.

The Psychiatric Research Institute at UAMS is a one-of-a-kind facility, created to treat and study various forms of mental illness. Their highly qualified staff has the experience and knowledge necessary to care for patients of all ages, no matter what kind of challenges they are facing. The Walker Family Clinic provides outpatient mental health services to adults, aged 18 years and up.

Back in 1982, Dr. Clothier received his medical degree from the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. He then went on to complete his residency in psychiatry and his fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1986 and 1988, respectively.

An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Among his most notable achievements, Dr. Clothier is the holder of the G. Richard Smith, MD, Distinguished Chair in Personalized Medicine, and has been the recipient of the On-Time Doctor Award in 2014.
