With a broad educational background, he earned his undergraduate degree at DePaul University and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Hospital, and his residency at Cabrini Medical Center.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, which was founded in 1975 as an independent, non-profit organization for the purpose of certifying podiatric surgeons found to be qualified after meeting credentialing requirements and completing the examination process.

As a part of the staff at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Dr. Alameda is actively involved in the Podiatric Surgery Residency Program at this prestigious institution. He also served on the board of the Department of Professional Regulation, Section of Podiatry, and has served as a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service.
