An Ivy-League trained neurologist with a fellowship in the field of epilepsy, Dr. Sadek is the Founder & Medical Director of the Orlando Epilepsy Center.

“At the Orlando Epilepsy Center, we provide comprehensive care for Epilepsy management. We can help in all stages of Epilepsy care: initial diagnosis, work up, treatment and long-term management. Each patient is treated with an individual plan of care in order to find the best available treatment option” as stated on their website. 

In addition to his leadership at the Orlando Epilepsy Center, Dr. Sadek is the Founder of the Neurodiagnostic Technology Institute & the Director of the Clinical Neurodiagnostic Department at Orlando Health.

A dedicated educator, he is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at UF Health Shands Hospital.

Receiving his medical education at Cairo University, Egypt, Dr. Sadek held a faculty status before his move to the United States. He received extensive training in neurology, neuroimaging, epilepsy, and clinical neurophysiology. He received residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He then completed a two year subspecialty fellowship training in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, followed by a two year neuroimaging research fellowship at the said establishment. 

Having been practicing as part of Neurological Services of Orlando since 2007, Dr. Sadek opened the Orlando Epilepsy Center Monitoring Unit in 2011 in order to be able to closely monitor seizure patients in a comfortable, home-like environment instead of the traditional hospital setting.

With great expertise in epilepsy management and monitoring of refractory epilepsy patients, he is triple board-certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, and epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

In addition to being a member of the International League Against Epilepsy, Dr. Sadek is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN), a Fellow of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (FACNS), and a Fellow of the American Epilepsy Society (FAES). 

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

A recognized authority and author in the field of epilepsy management, Dr. Sadek has authored numerous articles in industry publications and several book chapters. He has also been involved with several philanthropic endeavors, including Healing the Children.
