Dr. Chang has a considerable scientific background, both in the laboratory and in the clinic. She has given numerous talks and presentations regarding her clinical research on fertility testing, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and in vitro fertilization. Additionally, she has presented her investigations at meetings of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Endocrine Society, and the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society – among others. She has published many scientific articles in peer reviewed journals such as Fertility and Sterility & Human Fertility, as well as in clinical publications such as Sexuality, Reproduction and Menopause. Dr. Chang has been a contributing author in several books on infertility, menstrual disturbance, and PCOS.
Dr. Chang earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from UCLA and her medical degree from the University of California, Davis. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Harvard Medical School and affiliated training programs at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Children’s Hospital, Boston. She also completed a three-year clinical fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine.
Reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) is a surgical subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that trains physicians in reproductive medicine addressing hormonal functioning as it pertains to reproduction as well as the issue of infertility. A reproductive endocrinologist, sometimes referred to as an RE, is an obstetrician/gynecologist (OB-GYN) physician specialist who has completed a three-year fellowship of intense training in various aspects of endocrine disorders related to the reproductive system in both males and females. One area in which these doctors apply their skills is infertility.
Dr. Chang is the recipient of numerous honors, including the Outstanding Resident Surgeon Award from the American Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons. She has also been recognized by her fellow physicians as a Southern California “Super Doctor.” Dr. Chang is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology (FACOG). Dr. Chang is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and French. She is also proficient in medical Spanish.
