Get to know Vascular Surgeon Dr. Lucy Sun, who serves patients in Texas.

Dr. Sun is a highly qualified, well-respected board certified vascular surgeon in Dallas, Texas, with extensive experience treating vascular disease. She has devoted her life to vascular surgery and the study of vein disorders so that she can deliver the best results and the highest quality of care to her patients. 

Serving as the Founder of Sun Vein & Vascular, Dr. Sun has experience in every kind of vascular surgery procedure, from simple varicose vein removal to the most complex emergency vascular surgery. She is grateful for the opportunity to care for the Dallas community and their vascular health.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Sun graduated with her Medical Degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine. She then went on to perform her residency in surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, followed by her fellowship in vascular surgery at Rutgers Health/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

A leader in her field, Dr. Sun is board certified in both general surgery and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Sun is an active member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery.

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.
