Get to know Pain Management Specialist Dr. Benjamin P. Lowry, who serves patients throughout the State of Texas.

Recognized as a top pain management specialist, Dr. Lowry has been practicing medicine in the central Texas region for nearly a decade. His approach to the treatment of pain mirrors his partners at Integrated Pain Associates by providing compassionate care and a tailored, multimodal treatment plan for each and every patient. By treating the underlying problem rather than just the symptoms, patients are able to regain function and live a more normal life.

With offices throughout the state of Texas, Integrated Pain Associates specializes in custom treatments that address the root causes of chronic pain, with the goal of reestablishing function in one’s everyday life. The team of board-certified physicians and pain specialists put patient needs first. Their goal is to not only alleviate pain, but also to restore function and mobility so that each patient can enjoy all aspects of their life.

Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Lowry serves as a primary teaching and clinical faculty physician for the interventional pain fellowship at Scott and White. He has been published in multiple medical journals and recently co-authored an interventional pain management textbook. Likewise, he has lectured at several different medical conferences in Texas and surrounding states on the current practices in pain management and interventional techniques. 

In the early days of his academic career, Dr. Lowry received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple, where he served as chief resident and was voted the most outstanding hospital resident. Subsequently, he completed his fellowship training in interventional pain management at UT Southwestern in Dallas.

Continuing to expand his vast knowledge, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology, whose mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. He is also an active member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Texas Pain Society.

Pain management is a branch of medicine employing an interdisciplinary approach for easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with chronic pain. A pain management specialist is a doctor who specializes in pain medicine, focusing on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of pain.

A devoted husband and father, Dr. Lowry loves spending time with his family. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fishing, hunting, and boating when he is not working.
