How long does a facelift procedure take?
Modern facelifts are individualized to each patient and can vary based on age, skin type, etc. A thorough consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon should provide you with a plan that will meet your goals. The procedures can range from 3 hrs - 7 hrs depending on how extensive the plan. It’s not uncommon to improve results by adding fat grafting or chemical peels as well. READ MORE
Can I get a BBL?
Although you may feel like your proportions or shape can use some enhancement it is best to wait until you are a bit older. Even though you are emancipated, and can make your own decisions, you body is still changing including fat distribution, etc. Any Board Certified Plastic Surgeon will advise you to be a little more patient and wait a few more years. Beware of a surgeon that is willing to do body contouring surgery on a 16 year old. It is not in your best interest and would likely require more surgery in the future. READ MORE
Do facelifts leave scars?
All surgery will result in scars. the expertise of a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon is to plan the approach so that the incisions a strategically placed to avoid visible scarring. No one should be able to tell you have had surgery if done properly and if you heal well. Certainly the procedure in a 38 year old should be “short scar”, minimally invasive and have incision designs that are hidden. READ MORE

Does a double mastectomy prevent breast cancer?
Patients who are genetically predisposed to developing breast cancer are strongly advised to consider bilateral mastectomy to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in the future. Usually, a strong family history will be a reason to have genetic testing done. After the double mastectomy, the chances of having breast cancer are reduced to nearly zero, so the terminology is "risk reduction." In some types of genetic situations, there are other associated cancers that may also need to be prevented with ovary and/or uterus removal as well, so it's important to have some specific genetic testing results and be counseled so you can make the appropriate informed decisions. How long is a recovery from a breast augmentation?
Recovery from breast augmentation varies from patient to patient. Most of my patients are able to return to work within the week following surgery. Make sure you are consulting with a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and preferably a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery as we specialize in cosmetic surgery of the breast and body. At Contemporary Plastic Surgery in NJ, we utilize a "multimodal" pain management routine including the use of Exparel, which provides time released numbing medication to speed recovery without relying on the use of opioids. If your job is strenuous, requiring heavy lifting, then 4-7 days may not be sufficient time off from work. Hope this gives you some guidelines to start your journey. READ MORE
PRP or dermafillers?
PRP certainly can be a useful addition when treating many skin issues including fine lines, aging, environmental damage, hair thinning, etc. However, it is not an effective filler so stick with an HA (hyalauronic acid) product like restylane or juvederm. Hope that helps READ MORE
What are the risks of having a second breast augmentation to fix the first?
It is certainly reasonable to consider revisions to previous breast augmentation when the long term result is not satisfactory. The implants also continue to improve and can often yield excellent outcomes despite the prior surgery. It is important to choose a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who is experienced in breast augmentation revisions as these procedures do require special planning to ensure best results. There are risks whenever surgery is performed so make sure the surgical facility is accredited as well. Most patients are extremely pleased with the corrections that can be achieved with very low risk. Good luck to you. Dr H READ MORE

PRP is an excellent way to enhance the effect of the fillers so these treatments can be certainly be combined. Downtime from the PRP usually is a few days just because of possibility of minor bruising and/or swelling. There typically is not skin peeling.
