A board-certified dermatologist specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery, Dr. Nguyen is affiliated with Pine Belt Dermatology in Biloxi, Missouri.
The mission of Pine Belt Dermatology is to realize a shared vision of uncompromising excellence in dermatology. The addition of Dr. Nguyen further establishes Pine Belt Dermatology as one of the premiere medical and surgical dermatology specialty groups in the state of Mississippi, with an emphasis in quality Mohs micrographic surgery outcomes.
Before pursuing his career in medicine, he served nearly seven years in the United States Navy as a Surface Air Rescue Swimmer in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Law Enforcement for NATO Command Agnano in Naples, Italy.
Throughout his academic career, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida, graduating magna cum laude. He graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he served as Class President. He then completed his internship at Michigan State University and his residency in dermatology at Tri-County Dermatology of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident.
Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Nguyen is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (FAOCD), and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD).
In 2010, he received a US patent for developing a high-fidelity cutaneous surgical training model. He started a manufacturing company, Dermsurg Scientific, LLC to produce the surgical models in Dayton, Ohio, which was sold to Sim Skin.
The doctor’s contribution to the field of dermatology with his surgical model has helped the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Mohs Surgery, American College of Mohs Surgery, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery conduct “Hands-on” surgical workshops for dermatology residents and dermatologist nationally.
Passionate about teaching medical students and residents in surgical dermatology, he has been conducting a “Hands-on” surgical workshop in Pisa, Italy and Melbourne, Australia since 2012. He has published many scientific manuscripts in peer-review journals and has lectured at nationally and internationally conferences in the field of surgical dermatology.
In June of 2018, Dr. Keoni was invited to co-chair the first “Hands-on” surgical workshop at the 33rd National Congress of the SIDCO, a joint meeting with the International Society for Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery ISDS that was held in Rome, Italy.
