Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Miguel R. Aguilo-Seara, who serves patients in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Aguilo-Seara is a psychiatrist in practice with The Neuropsychiatric Group in Norristown, Pennsylvania. 

His special area of interest is degenerative brain disease of the geriatric population, especially dementia and related disorders. He personally works very closely with families in a team approach to maintain the dignity, self- esteem, and quality of life that they lost due to the disease. He is a strong advocate for this population and educates the community to appreciate that these people were once very productive professionals, caring parents, and friends before the onset of degenerative brain disease.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Aguilo-Seara graduated with his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra – Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud. He then performed his internship at Detroit Macomb Hospital Corporation, and his residency in psychiatry at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. He followed this up with fellowships at Georgetown University Medical Center and Hahnemann University Hospital.

Licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, the doctor is affiliated with Brandywine Hospital and Haven Behavioral Hospital of Philadelphia.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders.
