Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. Samayra Miranda, who serves patients in Dorado, Puerto Rico.

A prominent endocrinologist, Dr. Miranda tends to patients at Doctors’ Center Clinic – Dorado in Puerto Rico, Sabanera Health Clinic- Dorado, Puerto Rico and Morovis Community Health Center- Morovis Puerto Rico.

Doctors’ Center Clinic – Dorado is equipped to treat and prevent a wide variety of common pathologies. They offer services in specialized medicine, both general Endocrinology and Obesity medicine.

Back in 2009, Dr. Miranda received her medical degree from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism at San Juan City Hospital in 2014 and 2017, respectively.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in endocrinology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Also attained a certification, in Obeso Medicine, through the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that endocrinologists deal with include diabetes mellitus, as well as adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid disorders, among others.
