Get to know Dentist Dr. Joe Parets, who serves patients in West Hartford, Connecticut. 

Being a skilled dentist, oral health is Dr. Parets’ paramount concern. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Parets attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree in 2009. Following graduation, he completed a year of advanced training within the General Practice Residency program at Hartford Hospital, where he is currently serving as an attending dentist. As a pre-doctoral student, he organized a dental mission trip to Tobati, Paraguay to provide oral hygiene instruction and tooth extractions for underserved families. 

Taking pride in the trust he has built with patients of multiple generations, he pursues ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in his medical field. He also remains a member of several professional dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Hartford Dental Society (of which he is the Vice President). 

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Parets grew up in New Jersey and has been living in the Greater Hartford area since 2005. He currently lives in West Hartford with his wife and three children.
