Dr. Micek is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at MercyOne Clinton Medical Center. His areas of clinical interest include: hip and knee joint replacements, high school and college athletic injuries including shoulder, ACL and knee injury repairs, workers’ compensation to keep people at work during treatment, spine evaluations, and sports nutrition. He also repairs pediatric fractures, including “buckle” fractures.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Micek earned his medical degree from the SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Medicine in 1994. He then completed a rigorous residency within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Virginia in 2001.
As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
With over 19 years of experience with patients of all ages, Dr. Micek was an attending physician at Champion Orthopaedics in Olive Branch, Mississippi prior to joining MercyOne Clinton. Before that he was an orthopedic surgeon at Atlanta Orthopedic Specialists in Alpharetta, Georgia; was the practice owner of Cornerstone Orthopedics in Richmond, Kentucky, from 2003 to 2009, and practiced at Summit Orthopedics in Georgetown, Kentucky, from 2001 to 2003.
