Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. W. Mark Boomer, who serves patients in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A fellowship-trained specialist in the field of pulmonology, Dr. Boomer opened RespirCare Open Access in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He treats acute and chronic breathing problems, including COPD, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, emphysema, pulmonary and cystic fibrosis.

RespirCare is a novel concept, treating acute and chronic breathing problems involving a wide spectrum of respiratory issues, from minor to the most severe. The goal is to provide rapid care for a patient when they may not be able to access their primary care physician or specialist. RespirCare offers walk-in treatments every day of the week.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Boomer graduated with his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1986. He then performed his residency at the same educational venue in 1989, and his fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1992.

Holding triple board certification, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonology disease, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Practicing medicine in the state of Oklahoma, Dr. Boomer is affiliated with Integris Grove Hospital, Saint Francis Hospital, Ascension Oklahoma St. John Broken Arrow, Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Muscogee Creek Nation Medical Center.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract.
