What are some signs of vertigo?
Vertigo is not its own disease but rather a symptom (Example if you broke your arm you would experience pain as a symptom; the pain isnt the diagnosis, but a symptom of the root of the problem). Vertigo is a sensation of true spinning (which is different from feeling lightheaded, woozy, or imbalanced). It could be the symptom of another potential process like Menieres disease, positional vertigo, etc. There are many causes of dizziness and symptoms can come from a variety of possible sources. What are the symptoms of hearing loss?
Tinnitus can be a sign of hearing loss, but, its common to hear temporary tinnitus that resolves like youre describing. If the tinnitus doesnt resolve, then that is more cause for concern. Its never a bad idea to have a baseline hearing examination completed! READ MORE

Does hearing affect your speech?
Hello and thank you for this most important question. The answer is a resounding YES! If a child cannot hear well as they are trying to learn language, they have no resources for that auditory feedback. When we produce the sounds in our speech, we can hear that we are producing them correctly or incorrectly. Which hearing aids work the best?
This is surely a loaded question and one I cannot answer without knowing more about her situation. There are many types, styles, and technology levels available today. The very most important thing I would suggest is that she sees an audiologist, not a hearing aid specialist. Audiologists have doctoral degrees and will complete a comprehensive audiological evaluation (NOT a free screening!) and spend time with your grandmother to identify what her needs are. The hearing aid that is chosen should be based on a number of factors including the level of her hearing loss, dexterity concerns, activity level, and communication needs. Can vertigo cause deafness?
Hello! There are certainly disorders that can affect the inner ear system as a whole (vestibular system and cochlea). True spinning vertigo is often caused by an issue in the vestibular system but it can be as simple as positional vertigo which is easily treated, or something as complex as Menieres disease and others. What causes ear wax build up in babies?
Earwax is completely natural and is actually produced by the ear as a protective mechanism. Its especially important to note that while infants may appear to have more wax than adults, typically its not the case. It simply looks that way because their canals are so much smaller. VERY important to note is that infants have ear canals that are not fully developed yet so please DO NOT use Qtips or any other object to try to clean the ears. Hi there, great question! Hearing loss can absolutely be hereditary and passed from generation to generation, though its not always the case. There are many other factors that cause hearing loss including noise exposure and other medical conditions. Ear drum question?
I would advise you to discuss this with your ENT. I’m not certain what you mean that you have an open wall in your eardrum. Perhaps you mean a perforation in the eardrum?
