She then went on to earn her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, after which she performed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Nassau University Medical Center.
Subsequent to her training, she attained board certification in obstetrics and gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.
