Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery Dr. Somers currently practices with his private practice, in which he holds over three decades of experience in his field. Additionally, Dr. Somers is Chief of the Departments of Podiatry at Centennial Surgery Center. He is on staff at Baptist Hospital, St. Thomas Hospital, Centennial Medical Center, Three Rivers Hospital and Nashville Surgery Center.

Dr. Somers was the first podiatrist in the greater Tennessee area to utilize a laser in performing foot surgery and has performed several thousand laser procedures over the past 30 years. These procedures are performed in the office as well as in a hospital setting on an out-patient basis.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has appointed him for a third consecutive three-year term on the Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners.

To stay up to date in his field, he remains a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Tennessee Podiatric Medical Association and a member of the board of the Healing Arts for the state of Tennessee. He is past President of the Nashville Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Somers is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. The American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) strives to protect and improve the health and welfare of the public by advancing the art and science of foot and ankle surgery.
