Academically, Dr. Raabe attended Texas A&M University for his undergraduate work, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He continued at A&M for medical school, graduating with honors as the Salutatorian of his class. He completed his internship and his residency in orthopedic surgery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple. 

Furthering his training, he completed fellowships at the Colorado Spine Center and the Rocky Mountain Spine Center in Aurora, Colorado. He then attained board certification through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

An expert in his field, Dr. Raabe is a member of the Smith County Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the Christian Medical & Dental Associations. He has several publications, editorials, and professional presentations, as well as has focused on several areas of research.
