They also offer an assortment of in-office, safe, minimally invasive and virtually painless treatments, taking the time to understand each patient’s unique situation and preferences.
Recognized as the region’s leader in varicose vein treatment, Dr. Wolson is dedicated to providing superior care to her patients. With her 20+ years of experience, she continues to provide the most up-to-date treatment options from the treatment of cosmetic spider veins to the most complex vein issues. Likewise, she prides herself on educating her patients, taking the time that they need during appointments and respecting their time by staying on schedule. She responds to her patients’ phone calls quickly and calls them with their results on the day of their exam.
The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her combined medical degree and Doctorate degree from the Chicago Medical School. She completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center in 1998, followed by her fellowship in vascular surgery at the Loyola University Medical Center in 2000.
In private practice since July of 2000, Dr. Woloson formed her own corporation in 2004, specializing in all types of vascular surgery including varicose vein treatment. In 2014, she decided to focus primarily on venous disease and formed Northwest Vascular and Vein Specialists.
Accredited to interpret vascular ultrasounds, she is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). She is also a member of the American College of Phlebology, and continues her education and training through attending national meetings and conferences focusing on venous disease.
Having always had a passion for her profession, she is board-certified in vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
Voted the top vein doctor by her peers, Dr. Woloson was one of the first vascular surgeons performing minimally invasive vein ablations nearly 20 years ago. As one of the best vein doctors in the Chicago area, she has performed over 10,000 laser ablations. She has always had an expertise in varicose veins and venous disease, with her practice focusing on the newest technologies as they developed. She has been training vein doctors on how to treat varicose veins since 2010, and continues to educate herself on any technological advances in the field.
Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.
