Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Nawar Alnaquib, who serves patients in Everett, Washington. 

An advocate for children’s mental health and child safety, Dr. Alnaquib is a board-certified psychiatrist who serves patients at her private practice, Alnaquib Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic, in Everett, Washington. 

In her professional experience, she is also affiliated with Providence Regional Medical Center – Everett, a full-service medical center and the flagship hospital of Providence Health & Services, which is the largest faith-based healthcare system in the Northwestern United States.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her medical degree from the University of Baghdad in Iraq in 1968. Upon relocating to the United States, she went on to complete her residency in psychiatry and her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She also holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Sheffield. 

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in mental health, including substance use disorders. They are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems.
