Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Anicia L. Ndabahaliye, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

A trusted hospitalist, Dr. Ndabahaliye is affiliated with BMG Hospitalists, working with patients at the Mease Dunedin Hospital, Mease Countryside Hospital, and North Bay Hospital. Her clinical interests include aging medicine, obesity medicine and metabolic diseases.

In regards to her educational background, she completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University, graduating with magna cum laude distinction in Biology and Society. She received her medical degree from Rutgers University-New Jersey Medical School, and completed a residency in internal medicine at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In order to remain up to date in her field, she is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, the Obesity Medicine Association, and the American Geriatric Society.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Hospitalists take an active part in medical care and ensure a safe discharge for the patients they take care of. They are being increasingly involved in administrative roles, given their expertise and collaboration with various teams in the hospital. 

Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Ndabahaliye has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018).
