Get to know Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. John D. Crouch, who serves patients throughout the State of Wisconsin.

An experienced cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Crouch is the Director of the Cardiac Surgery Service Line & Surgical Director of Cardiac Transplantation and MCS with Aurora Health Care.

Affiliated with Aurora Cardiovascular & Thoracic Services, located within Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, his other hospital affiliations include Aurora Medical Center Grafton, Aurora Medical Center Summit, and Aurora Sinai Medical Center.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Crouch earned his medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1980. He then went on to perform his internship in general surgery, his residency in surgery, and his fellowship in thoracic and cardiac surgery at North Carolina Memorial Hospital.

With over four decades of surgical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS). The ABTS is an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest.

Cardiothoracic surgery is the field of medicine involved in the surgical treatment of organs inside the thorax. Cardiothoracic surgeons are medical doctors who specialize in surgical procedures inside the thorax, which may involve the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest.
