Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Jordan Hill, who serves patients in Tennessee.

Dr. Hill is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who brings experience in cornea transplantation, anterior segment and cataract surgery and refractive surgical procedures to Cornea & Cataract Consultants of Nashville.

As Nashville’s premier ophthalmological solution, Cornea and Cataract Consultants of Nashville is committed to providing the highest level of personal care to every patient at their three offices in Nashville, Franklin, and Murfreesboro. The group includes medical doctors who are trained in medical vision care and eye surgery, with fellowship training in the care and surgery of the cornea. Every patient will see a surgeon for preoperative assessment and postoperative care, and the doctors are available after hours if needed for emergencies.

Possessing a solid educational background, Dr. Hill graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, after which he completed an internship at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts. He then performed a residency in ophthalmology at Cook County Health in Chicago and was selected to serve as Chief Resident in his final year.

Furthering his training, he completed a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the prestigious Devers Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon. At Devers, he trained with Mark Terry, Michael Straiko, and P. James Sanchez, pioneers in the field of partial thickness corneal transplants, including DMEK surgery.

A member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, nonprofit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists (eye physicians and surgeons) in the United States.

In the state of Tennessee, Dr. Hill is affiliated with Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, TriStar Parthenon Pavilion, TriStar Centennial Medical Center, and TriStar Centennial Women’s Hospital.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.

On a more personal note, Dr. Hill’s hobbies and interests include podcasts and sports (MLB, NCAA, NFL).
