After earning his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 1965, Dr. Simon decided to further his training. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center.
After two years as a Major in the Air Force, he came to Nyack. Having held leadership positions with several associations in the county, he served as the President of the Rockland County Unit of the American Cancer Society, a member of the Executive Board of the Rockland County Medical Society, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Rockland County PSRO.
Listed as a “Top Doctor” of the New York metro area for several consecutive years, Dr. Simon is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
