Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Samanger Purcell-Matthew, who serves patients in Huntsville, Alabama.

With more than two decades of experience across diverse healthcare environments, Dr. Purcell-Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to excellence to her practice. Her approach is characterized by empathy, dedication, and a steadfast advocacy for children’s health. She firmly believes in patient-centered care, striving to positively impact the lives of children from infancy through to young adulthood.

Currently, she is welcoming new patients at Huntsville Family Health Center, where she looks forward to providing exceptional pediatric care.

Graduating from the St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2003, Dr. Purcell-Matthew went on to complete a rigorous pediatric residency at Cooper University Hospital. She holds licenses from both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Alabama Medical Commission, underscoring her commitment to upholding the highest standards of medical practice.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatric critical care specialists treat children from birth through the teen years. They choose to make caring for children who are very sick the core of their medical practice. Their advanced training and experience prepare them to give children in PICUs the unique medical care that they need.

In her free time, Dr. Purcell-Matthew enjoys hiking through nature’s splendor, exploring new destinations, tending to her garden, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. She is also actively involved in teaching and children’s programs at her church.
