Can my son go to the eye doctor during covid-19?
That is a great question. MDs as well as ophthalmologists have modified their clinic routines to minimize exposure to patients. The front office routines include pre registration and limited entry to the waiting room. Text messaging is used to grant access to the office. Most tests are performed by technicians who all wear maskings and PPE. In all cases, the patient is more than six feet from the caregiver. Many tests are automated and require no contact. The ophthalmologist can examine you with a clear barrier between you and him (her). The chairs and equipment are wiped down with sanitizer between patients as well as all personnel sanitizing between patient contact. Remember to mask and sanitize yourself throughout the day. Gary M. My son has a bacterial eye infection. How long should it take to heal?
You did not say who prescribed the eye drops. If it has not responded, see an ophthalmologist. It may not be a bacterial infection. It could be viral conjunctivitis, corneal infection or some other condition. HERPES SIMPLEX is very common. Fever blister, or adenoviral infection. If so, there are medications to treat those. This information should not be construed as a diagnosis, nor a recommendation for treatment. SEE YOUR EYE DOCTOR. Gary M. Levin READ MORE
