A native of Egypt, Dr. Elmallah received his medical degree, Master’s degree in Cardiology, and Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Ain Shams University in Cairo. After relocating to the United States, he completed a combined residency program in internal medicine/pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University in 2009, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the same educational venue in 2012. That same year, he completed a fellowship in adult congenital heart disease at the Cleveland Clinic, before completing two additional fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural & peripheral interventional cardiology with the University of Kentucky Gill Heart Institute in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, cardiovascular CT, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
As for his academic appointments, Dr. Elmallah serves as an Associate Professor with UCONN Health.
