Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Bruce D. Lawrence who serves patients in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

Dr. Lawrence is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has been in private practice since 1988. He sees patients at Greater Michigan Orthopedics in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where he has performed thousands of surgeries with positive outcomes and minimal downtime. 

Greater Michigan Orthopedics is a unique practice of specialty orthopedics, offering a premier source for all levels of care. With more than 100 years of combined, certified experience, the team provides quality care patients can depend on to get them back in the game and on with their lives. 

Specializing in arthroscopic procedures of the knee and hip, as well as arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, Dr. Lawrence also holds an academic appointment. He serves as a Clinical Professor for Michigan State University at Genesys Regional Medical Center. 

A Flint native, he graduated from Carman High School in 1974. Years later, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan Flint and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. Upon graduation, he went on to complete his residency in orthopedics at Doctor’s Hospital in Massillon, Ohio. 

Building on that experience, he became board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. 

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders. They work in clinical and hospital settings.

An avid golfer, Dr. Lawrence currently resides in Grand Blanc.
