Raised in Long Island, New York, Dr. Goñi attended Boston College where she completed her pre-medical studies and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She attended medical school at the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. In 2005, she completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.

Licensed to practice medicine in at least 21 states, Dr. Goñi is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and is currently a Diplomat of the ABR. The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Professionally, Dr. Goñi is a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the American College of Radiology and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Diagnostic Radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. The tests and equipment used sometimes involves low doses of radiation to create highly detailed images of an area. When she is not working, Dr. Goñi enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, traveling, getting together with friends, and exercising. She is an avid Peloton user. She has a growing interest in real estate investing and hopes to write a book one day.
