Get to know Neurologist Dr. Susan L. Evans, who serves patients in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Dr. Evans is a practicing neurologist with New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) Physician Group – Neurology in Wilmington, North Carolina. A 1991 graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Dr. Evans went on to complete her internship and her residency in neurology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. This was followed by a fellowship in neuromuscular disorders at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore.

Holding over three decades of experience in her field, the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (ABNP). The ABNP is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
