Originally established in 1999 as The NORTH Institute, Dietze and Logan Spine Specialists is characterized by excellence in medicine, surgery, professionalism, and patient care. The practice continues to grow and evolve as Drs. Dietze and Logan implement advances in medical and surgical care. A 1988 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Logan performed an internship at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in 1989. From there, he completed several residencies, including a residency in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in 1991, a residency in general orthopedic surgery at South Louisiana Medical Center in 1992, and a residency in orthopedic surgery at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in 1993. Finally, he completed a fellowship in adult and pediatric spine surgery at Colorado Spine Center, P.C. in 1994. 

With a focus on the body’s musculoskeletal system, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

A Fellow of the American Academy Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS), Dr. Logan is a member of the American Pain Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the North American Spine Society, and the Louisiana Orthopedic Association.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.
