Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Crone completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in neurosurgery at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, whose broad aim is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.
