Alexander Tu, MD, FAAP

Dr. Tu is a skilled, board-certified pediatrician treating children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents, at the Newport Beach, Irvine, and Huntington Beach locations of Newport Children’s Medical Group. 

With extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient care, the doctor provides primary pediatric care, well-child exams, immunizations, and builds enduring relationships with his patients and their families. He also treats chronic conditions like diabetes, asthma, lung and thyroid disorders, and developmental issues such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism. With a particular specialty in international and oral health, he diagnoses and treats a range of issues, empowering his patients with healthy oral habits and a life-long confident smile. 

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Tu graduated with honors from Pennsylvania State University in State College before receiving his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and then went on to train for five years at a general pediatric practice in Montgomery County, Maryland. During his time there, he enjoyed teaching Sunday school for five years and sharing a number of medical presentations in rural China over the years. 

In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), he is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Founded in 1933, the ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence. Certification by the ABP has one objective, to promote excellence in medical care for children and adolescents.

On a more personal note, Dr. Tu is happily married. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

Zacharia Reda, MD, FAAP, FCCP

Dr. Reda, a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatrician, has served the Los Angeles and Orange County area for the past 30 years. He sees patients at the Fashion Island and Laguna Beach locations of Newport Children’s Medical Group.

Professionally, the doctor serves on the faculty of Hoag Hospital, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, Mission, Miller Children’s Hospital, CHOC Children’s, and Saddleback Memorial. He has extensive experience in teaching residents, physician assistants & medical students from the University of California Irvine, the University of Southern California, and the University of California, Los Angeles.

After completing his residency at the University of Southern California and his fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Reda embarked on his professional journey. He served as the Associate Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, and of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. He also served as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for 15 years & was voted as a Chairman of the Pediatric Department for 4 years. 

Frequently participating in international meetings to update and share his knowledge, Dr. Reda is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and a Fellow of the American college of Chest Physicians (FCCP). He is also a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the European Society of Critical Care, as well as board-certified in pediatrics, critical care, and hospital medicine.

Over the past 15 years, he was selected by his peers at the OCMA as one of the “Top Doctors” in his field, voted one of the best doctors in California to be trusted by physicians to care for their own children, and selected as one of “Best Doctors in America”. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Reda enjoys playing tennis and participating in beach activities. He is fluent in both English and French.

William Holm, MD, FAAP

As an experienced and compassionate pediatric endocrinologist, Dr. Holm provides high-quality care to children of all ages at Newport Children’s Medical Group. Serving the practice locations in Newport Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, and Laguna Beach, California, he brings over 32 years of experience in outpatient and inpatient pediatrics and endocrinology. 

At Newport Children’s Medical Group, Dr. Holm has a specialty in treating children, from infants to adolescents, with diabetes, pediatric obesity, early and delayed growth, and puberty disorders. He also treats thyroid, adrenal, and metabolic disorders, as well as hormonal imbalances and polycystic ovary in female patients. 

A graduate of the University of Arizona in Tucson, he finished his residency at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He then went on to complete his fellowship in endocrinology at the University of California, Los Angeles, after which he served on the faculty at the University of Southern California.
