Get to know Radiation Oncologist Dr. Annaliisa McGlinn, who serves patients in Poulsbo, Washington.
Dr. McGlinn is a radiation oncologist at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Peninsula – an established state-of-the-art radiation oncology clinic located in Poulsbo, Washington. It is the only site west of Seattle to earn full accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR), which is the leading organization in establishing quality standard for radiation oncology facilities.
Dr. McGlinn is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Radiology Oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Dr. McGlinn received her bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington, followed by her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She then went on to complete her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Southern California, followed by her transitional residency at the University of North Dakota.
Dr. McGlinn served as an attending radiation oncologist at the Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska from 2004 until 2007. She also served as Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute in Meadville, Pennsylvania from 2007 until 2018.
Dr. McGlinn is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is one of 24 national medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
Radiation oncology is one of the three primary specialties, the other two being surgical and medical oncology, involved in the treatment of cancer. A radiation oncologist, like Dr. McGlinn, is a specialist physician who uses ionizing radiation (such as megavoltage X-rays or radionuclides) in the treatment of cancer. Her clinical expertise includes general radiation oncology, breast cancers, lung cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, genitourinary cancers, head and neck cancers, lymphomas, sarcomas, and more.
Dr. McGlinn chose to work in oncology because she wanted to help people and she was fascinated by the beauty and complexity of the human body. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, going on outdoor adventures, reading, watching movies, and cooking.
