Acupuncture is a system of healthcare that has been developed, refined, and practiced in China for the past 4,000 years. In ancient times, acupuncture, along with herbal medicine, was used as the primary method of treating injuries and illness. It involves the superficial insertion of hair-thin needles into points on the body that have been proven to relieve pain and disease. Nowadays, most people come to an acupuncturist for medical problems that do not respond well to western medicine (such as drugs, surgery, pain killers, etc.).
To stay up to date in her field, she remains a professional member of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Florida State Oriental Medical Association, and the Florida Department of Health.
Ruth attributes her professional success to learning to be in contact with her herself, she believes when you are in touch with yourself, you have the ability to do anything you want.
When not working she enjoys reading, dancing, and swimming.
