Dr. Truchan is an established orthopedic surgeon whose specialty focus is orthopedic trauma surgery and pediatric orthopedic surgery. She specializes in adult and pediatric orthopedic trauma and fracture care, post-traumatic reconstruction of deformities, as well as the treatment of malunions, nonunions, and other complications of orthopedic trauma.
In affiliation with Banner Health, Dr. Truchan holds privileges at Banner – University Medical Center South & Banner – University Medical Center Tucson. She sees patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

With a strong educational background, Dr. Truchan graduated with her medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1998. She then went on to perform her internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the Detroit Medical Center in 1999 and 2004, respectively. This was followed by a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2005.
Four years later, in 2009, she attained board certification in orthopedic surgery through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Alongside her clinical role, Dr. Truchan serves as an Associate Professor within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson.
Continuously advancing her efforts, she is an active member of the American Medical Association, the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society, the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (Fellow), the Orthopedic Trauma Association, the Southwest Orthopedic Trauma Association, and AO North America.
