Get to know Family Physician Dr. Eyako Wurapa, who serves patients in Germantown, Maryland.

A member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, Dr. Wurapa is a thoughtful and skilled family physician with Patient First. He provides a full range of urgent care and primary care services at the office in Germantown, Maryland. 

With over two decades of experience in his field, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. 

On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Wurapa received his Bachelor of Science degree from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania, and his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He also received his Master of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. 

Wanting to further his education, he completed an internship in internal medicine at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington D.C., and a residency in family medicine at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia. He also completed a residency in general preventative medicine at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
