Get to know Nephrologist Dr. Rajaram Kandasamy, who serves patients in New Jersey.

As a practicing nephrologist, Dr. Kandasamy diagnoses, treats, and manages diseases and complications affecting the kidneys. He is the Owner of Windsor Medical Center, PA & Vice President of Med Sleep, LLC.

Established in 2001, Windsor Medical Center, PA is a family-owned business founded by Dr. Sri Sujanthy Rajaram and Dr. Rajaram Kandasamy. At the time, both doctors had dubbed themselves “The New Doctors in the Neighborhood”, starting off as a small practice. Years later, the business expanded to include Med Sleep, LLC, always keeping current to match evolving needs and help patients optimize their health. 

On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Kandasamy earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Jaffna in Sri Lanka in 1989. After relocating to the United States, he went on to perform his internship in internal medicine at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center and his residency in internal medicine at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn. This was followed by a fellowship in nephrology at Temple University Hospital.

A specialist in kidney disorders, hypertension, and internal Medicine, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

In affiliation with a number of medical centers and hospitals, Dr. Kandasamy holds privileges at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – New Brunswick, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, CarePoint Health Hoboken University Medical Center, and Trinitas Regional Medical Center.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care when the time comes. 

In practice for over three decades, Dr. Kandasamy has been the recipient of several awards and honors, including Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011, 2014) and Patients’ Choice Award (2011, 2018).
