Dr. Zelna is a well-versed podiatrist who sees patients at Coastal Foot & Ankle Specialists in St. Petersburg, Florida. She practices alongside her husband, Dr. Brendon Zelna, continuing to provide the excellent foot and ankle care that Dr. Stephen Moss had been providing to the St. Petersburg community for over 40 years.

Both doctors are extensively trained in the latest conservative and surgical podiatric techniques. From an issue with a nail or wound management to sports injuries and reconstructive foot and ankle procedures including total ankle replacement, they are well-equipped to provide compassionate and effective treatment.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Zelna received her undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management with minors in Biology and Chemistry from Florida State University, where she was a member of Tri Beta Biological Honor Society and the Phi Beta Sigma National Honor Society. She then attended Des Moines University’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, where she received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree and was a member of Pi Delta. From there, she went on to complete her surgical residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital just outside of Detroit, Michigan.

As a testament to her success, the doctor is board-certified in podiatric surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, whose mission is to protect and improve the health and welfare of the public by advancing the art and science of foot and ankle surgery.

Her experience includes a wide array of surgical and conservative management of sports injuries, including fractures of the foot and ankle, tendon disorders, dermatological conditions, neurological conditions of the lower extremity, wound care, arthroscopic surgery, ankle replacement surgery, as well as reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.

Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, diagnosis, and medical and surgical treatment of a variety of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. A podiatrist, also known as a podiatric physician or a foot and ankle surgeon, is a medical professional devoted to the treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity.
