What do you attribute your success to?

  • \"My parents were both immigrants, so I am a first generation Mexican-American. They instilled in me a strong work ethic since childhood and gave me strong examples to live by of how to work hard but also really care about my community. The support I received from my wife has been invaluable. She has been unwaveringly supportive and mindful of why we both make the sacrifices we do. My role as a physician is truly a partnership with her--I would not be in the position to take care of the people of our community without the support she has provided to me.\"

“I feel blessed to work in the El Paso community with a population that is typically underserved. It is my goal to explain as thoroughly as possible the problems and solutions associated with rhythm disorders. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than to meet with my patients after a procedure and have them tell me that I’ve truly made a difference in their lives. My dad was a physician and I know that I’ve made him proud by continuing his legacy of quality patient care” expresses Dr. Gonzalez.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, he attended college at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 1997. He then went on to attend medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and graduated with his Medical Degree in 2001.

Immediately following, Dr. Gonzalez and his wife moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he started his residency program in internal medicine at Banner Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Passionate about cardiovascular diseases and diagnoses, he completed a three-year fellowship in general cardiology at Good Samaritan and graduated in 2006.
