Get to know Neurologist Dr. Lorenzo O. Aguilar, who serves patients in Modesto, California.

A committed neurologist, Dr. Aguilar is affiliated with Central Valley Medical Group, seeing patients at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, California.

With a broad educational background, he received his medical degree from the Far Eastern University Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in the Philippines in 1982. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University in 2003, followed by a residency in neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson in 2008. Finally, he completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in 2009.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Remaining up to date in his field, Dr. Aguilar is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the California Medical Association, the American Epilepsy Society, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

On a more personal note, Dr. Aguilar attributes his success to his love for the field. He is fluent in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, and Filipino.
