Get to know Pediatric Cardiologist Dr. Rhonda S. Lappen, who serves patients in Los Gatos, California.

Being an experienced, fellowship-trained pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Lappen is a part of the team of professionals at Pediatric Cardiology Associates – Los Gatos in California.

A part of Stanford Children’s Health, Pediatric Cardiology Associates – Los Gatos specializes in the care of pediatric heart disease. For the past 30 years, they have been dedicated to the well-being of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults affected by acquired and congenital heart disease. They serve the community of the South Bay with outpatient and inpatient visits from their offices in Los Gatos, Capitola, and Salinas. 

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Lappen earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in 1976. She then went on to serve complete her internship, residency, and fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in 1977, 1978, and 1981, respectively. This was followed by a residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago in 1983, and a fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in 1984. 

With an outstanding commitment to her specialty, the doctor is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics, which is an independent and nonprofit organization that was founded in 1933. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. 

Pediatric cardiologists are pediatricians who specialize in cardiology. They treat diseases and abnormalities of the heart and circulatory system in children. They practice in a variety of medical settings, including children’s hospitals, university medical centers, large community hospitals, as well as private offices throughout the country.
